Every Monday night ,from 7pm to 9pm, the Scottish Country Dancers meet for a time of easy exercise and fun. We have a very comfortable dance floor to practice on and, with a short warm- up before dancing, we never suffer any floor- related foot injuries. In the past dancing on concrete floors has played havok with dancers’ feet and we have promised ourselves never to do that again. We learn many dances and revisit ones learnt in the past so your brain is always kept on the go and you'll get as much help as you need for that. So far as proper foot position etc. that is completely at the individual dancer’s discretion. We'll show you how, but you may hop as high as you wish or just walk around. All that is needed is to keep up with the music , learn the pattern of the dance, and get back to place on time. A suggestion to those of you who have young children to be cared for, why not take turns in coming to dancing ever other week and the other partner could attend on the alternate weeks. Or, attend twice a month, It would be a good opportunity to get away for a short while and I know you’d feel very relaxed after a session with us.
