The Fresno Stag and Thistle Pipe Band is the official band of the Piping Society of Central California of Fresno, formed in 1990 a non-profit organization. Over the years, the band has played at innumerable parades, dinners, parties, funerals, weddings, ceilidhs, holiday events, and other functions.

The band holds weekly practices, held every Tuesday evening, attended by pipers, drummers, dancers, and students. When the Pipe Major, the elected leader of the Band, feels the students are ready, they're invited to play with the band. The current Pipe Major is Dick Foster, with Gwen Foster as Pipe Sergeant and Alex Toledo as Drum Sergeant.
